Joe & Jacqueline are not real.

(Obviously)

Joe and Jacqueline alternate roles as virtual hosts and ‘experts’ in the various topics that we’ll explore in the upcoming episodes.

While that 'uncanny valley’ feeling may be apparent in this first episode, the technology is getting better from week to week, so this podcast should evolve together with every new development.

The goal of Good Day, Humans is to explore how AI can empower people to research, curate, produce, edit and present more and better content without masking the involvement of AI.

Joe Zandstra is real

It might seem that this experiment is about finding ways to automate content creation. But that's not what this project is about. In fact, it's quite the opposite. This podcast explores the creative possibilities that emerge when humans and AI collaborate.

I, Joe Zandstra, the human creator, work closely with the AI to shape the narrative, refine the ideas, and inject some personality into the script. It's a partnership, with AI handling the heavy lifting of research and writing while I focus on the creative vision.

Good Day, Humans involves many human hours of conceptualization, planning, discussion between human and AI, prompting, editing, and production.

I don't believe anything will replace the depth of character and spontaneity of real people in a studio truly connecting and expressing a lifetime of human experience and expertise. And this is not an attempt to do so.

There is a proliferation of low-quality AI-generated content polluting the internet right now, and I don't want to add to that. But I believe there is a middle ground between the high volume of low-grade output driven by a desire to get rich quick and truly irreplaceable human content.

And that's what I'm aiming for here – carefully considered and crafted content that won't reach the levels of connection that real humans can but is nevertheless interesting and useful and would not otherwise be feasible to produce with just one person.
